Design: 2006-2007
Net area: Old town square and adjacent streets
The project for the revitalisation of the Old Town in Puck was prepared for a competition announced by the Institute of European Initiatives and the Mayor of Puck. The Grupa5 project obtained the first prize and a special prize from the town inhabitants.
The space of the town square was divided into several functional zones: a reprezentative zone, a local zone – alternating with a recreational zone and coffee shop and summer outdoor restaurant zone.
The center of the square was to feature a stage which would comprise a spacial form which would give character to the square..
The stage could serve as a stand allowing for participation in cultural, market and trading events. The space available under the stage will be utilised as an exhibition hall, tourist information center, an exposition hall for the ruins of the first old town hall or a conference hall.
The small scale architectural features tie in with the atmosphere of a town on a sea bay and includes examples of regional and marine themes.
