The main idea behind the private orthopaedic hospital “OSTEON” in Jabłonna design was to create a vision of a modern hospital which departs from the aesthetic archetype of typical Polish medical facilities.
The distinctive, dynamic body of the building with a full glass wall from the side of the main street was proposed to that very end. Uniform metal cladding panels on the roof and elevation surfaces lent a modern and technological air to the building. At the same time, classic-looking symmetrical gables allude to traditional single-family homes, which may be built in the neighbouring area in the future.
The creation of an effective small-scale functional-utility layout of the hospital posed an additional challenge. The building comprises two operating theatres, doctors’ offices, procedure rooms, bed unit, laboratories, rehabilitation rooms, dentist’s office and conference room with facilities.
