Net area: 11400m2
Design: 2007-2008
The building comprises one of the square forms in the South Praga district of Warsaw. The compact and monumental form of the building ties in with socialist realist features in the area of Wiatraczna rounddabout, whereas the use of modern materials is a variation on the monotonous fronts of the existing buildings along Wiatraczna, Pac and Prochowa streets. The stairwells feature profilit glazing, the loggias comprise plywood elements and the ground level features a ceramic floor which is reminiscent of the brick factory which once stood on the site. The exposed steel elements, stair balustrades of perforated metal sheets nd brick small architectural features are all reminders of the industrial past of the spot.
The building id different in character as seen from the internal courtyard. A green area has been arranged here for inhabitiants including a small playground and medium height trees. The elevations are simpler and more friendly in scale and colour.
It includes appox. 160 flats and service areas on the ground floor which are accessible directly from the street.
