The gymnasium building of St. Hieronimus at 4 Kościelna Street in Podkowa Leśna is an extension of the primary school building of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus. Both buildings will be connected structurally and internally through general communication routes via a glazed connector. In terms of spatial and material solutions, the gymnasium building is designed as a stylistic continuation of the primary school, treating it as a local architectural landmark. The main entrance is located in the arcade of the western facade, facing Kościelna Street, and its axis extends through the entire width of the building to the area of the future schoolyard on the eastern side. Utilizing the differences in terrain around both buildings, a two-level assembly hall equipped with wooden seating in the form of stairs overcoming level differences between the entrance and the ground floor was designed in the main entrance area.
The space of the internal, elongated corridors on the ground floor and the first floor is energized by introducing natural light through the glazed walls of the connector, a wide scenic opening with a corner window facing the courtyard, a skylight from the north, and the openness of the stairwell space that functionally connects the entire gymnasium building.
