"Art Modern" residential estate in Łódź
The main task of the project was the revitalization of the former "Eskimo" factory grounds in Łódź. The architecture of the newly designed buildings, economical and modestly elegant, is inspired by the modernism of Łódź and contrasts with the existing brick factory buildings.
The project's idea was to create an open, attractive urban space while simultaneously delineating semi-public and private areas.
The created residential and commercial complex consists of ten new buildings clustered around an urban square and an existing historic building with a chestnut tree alley leading to them.The historic building and the emphasis on brick plinths, along with the raised terrain, clearly delineate the open urban space from the successive semi-private courtyards of the residential complex.
